Tom Wood Automotive is proud to sponsor the Tatum's Bags of Fun program. - Two-time cancer survivor Tatum Parker and Nascar's Jeff Gordon will be featured on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams this Friday, February 18, 2011 at 6:30 EST.  They will be featured in the "Making a Difference" segment for their work on behalf of pediatric cancer patients. 
Tatum Parker is a 10-yr old fourth grade student at Spring Mill Elementary in Indianapolis.  She is a two-time cancer survivor who started Tatum's Bags of Fun in August 2008. Tatum's Bags of Fun gives backpacks filled with age-appropriate games, toys and activities to every child diagnosed with a form of cancer in Indiana.  An estimated 300 children are annually diagnosed with a form of cancer in Indiana.  You can learn more at Tatum's Bags of Fun.

Nascar's Jeff Gordon began supporting organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society early in his career. The diagnosis of his crew chief's (Ray Evernham) son in 1992 inspired Jeff to establish his foundation in hopes of helping children facing critical illness to realize their dreams.  What had started as a small project driven by one special child has grown into an organization that has granted over $11 million for children's charities.

Through the years, Jeff has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children.  He has established a long-term relationship with Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, providing funding for new construction, equipment, and most recently providing $1.5 million to establish The Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation Pediatric Cancer Research Laboratory.  You can learn more at Jeff Gordon Foundation.
