Nascar's Jeff Gordon began supporting organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society early in his career. The diagnosis of his crew chief's (Ray Evernham) son in 1992 inspired Jeff to establish his foundation in hopes of helping children facing critical illness to realize their dreams. What had started as a small project driven by one special child has grown into an organization that has granted over $11 million for children's charities.
Through the years, Jeff has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children. He has established a long-term relationship with Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, providing funding for new construction, equipment, and most recently providing $1.5 million to establish The Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation Pediatric Cancer Research Laboratory.
