Volkswagen is crowned the industry leader in IIHS awards for the 2011 Model Year.

 Every year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rates vehicles based on their active and passive safety which is determined through a set of rigorous tests that the cars must endure. Out of over 66 models of the leading automobile manufacturers that were rated this year, Volkswagen was the only one to receive the award for six of their models.
