Ford's 2013 Mustang Customizer Raises the Bar

Ford's Mustang Customizer, an app that that lets enthusiasts take advantage of the classic design and make or re-make the Mustang of their dreams, has proved more popular than Ford imagined. Users can choose to customize a Mustang V6, Mustang GT, Mustang Boss 302 or Shelby GT500, and then view their vehicle from five different angles against three different backgrounds; customizers can even determine how much smoke their burnout generates. Accessories include body kits, wheels, decals, grilles and decklids, along with parts from Ford Racing Performance Parts and Ford Vehicle Personalization. Within minutes, several different looks can easily be created and saved as desktop wallpaper.

To capitalize on this popularity Ford raises the bar for 2013, giving people a chance to win an actual version of the Mustang  with as many of the customized changes they selected as is possible. Users can earn points through a series of actions. The more points they have, the more entries they get, and the more entries they get, the better chance they have of winning their dream Mustang. After using the 2013 Mustang Customizer, users can collect points for sharing the customizer and their customized Mustang on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or via email. Customizers can also rack up points by winning battles in Battle Mode (a Facebook app that lets users go head-to-head to see who has the best-looking car), commenting on others' cars and by recruiting their friends to customize a Mustang and join the contest. Winners will be selected randomly.

Check out the 2013 Mustang Customizer for all of the rules and details, and get to work building your virtual Mustang. You never know, it could end up in your driveway!
