2013 will be the last year for the Volvo C70 convertible, according to Volvo’s website which states that production will stop after this year. This isn’t too surprising, as the Swedish plant that produces the C70 was scheduled to close in 2013.

The Volvo C70 was originally a two-door coupe and soft-top convertible introduced in the US in 1998. The second generation of the C70, which debuted in 2006, was a hardtop convertible model with a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine.
Rumor has it that Volvo may eventually replace the C70 with a production version of the Volvo Concept Coupe from the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, there are quite a few other projects on Volvo’s current pipeline, namely the upcoming redesign of the Volvo XC90 crossover along with the rollout of the company’s new Drive-E family of four-cylinder engines.
New Volvo C70 models are still available at Tom Wood Volvo in Indianapolis, so stop in and check them out before they’re gone for good!
