Best of all, you can do it virtually from anywhere, and if the car isn't right, pre-owned and certified pre-owned vehicles can be returned hassle-free within 7 days (provided they're in the same condition as purchased) and has been driven LESS than 300 miles. New vehicles can be returned hassle-free within 5 days (provided they're in the same condition as purchased) and has been driven LESS than 100 miles. Please note that delivery handling charges are non-refundable.
After an order is placed, our team will:
  • Verify the availability during normal business hours. Since our vehicles are also available to purchase in-store, there is a possibility a deal is pending and there could be a delay for that to be reflected on our website.
  • Once availability is verified, our team will reach out and confirm the order.
  • Provide any requested information on the vehicle; i.e. CarFax, inspection (if applicable), photos and video walk-around.
  • Discuss any issues (if applicable) and answer any questions you may have.
  • Request documents we may need to help complete the order.
  • Send documents digitally for signing and mail out any state documents that require original ink signatures.
  • Collect down payments or required funds.
  • Arrange delivery once all funds and documents are received.
Tom Wood Direct offers a large inventory of select new, certified pre-owned, and late-model, low-mileage pre-owned vehicles. Before any pre-owned vehicle is added to our inventory, it must pass a rigorous multipoint inspection.
Pre-owned vehicles and certified pre-owned vehicles can be returned hassle-free and at no cost within 7 days provided the vehicle is in the same condition as purchased and has been driven LESS than 300 miles. New vehicles can be returned hassle-free and at no cost within 3 days provided the vehicle is in the same condition as purchased and has been driven LESS than 100 miles. Please note that delivery handling charges are non-refundable and the buyer is responsible for transportation charges to return the vehicle.
Tom Wood Direct vehicles must be returned in the condition in which they are sold, other than normal wear and tear. Vehicle return must be initiated before 7 days (for pre-owned) or 3 days (for new) has passed from the date and time you completed delivery or curbside pickup and the vehicle must not have been driven more than 300 miles (for pre-owned) or 100 miles (for new) from the mileage at time of delivery.

We cannot accept a return if the vehicle has been in an accident, has been modified or altered from the condition it was delivered in, or has has a lien or other encumbrance put on the vehicle (other than any retail installment contract you signed when purchasing the vehicle) and we will conduct a full inspection of the vehicle upon its return.
Your purchase price, taxes, registration fees, aftermarket product selections, and administration fees are refundable. Delivery fees are not refundable and you would be responsible for the cost of delivery back to our store. Trade-ins are unable to be returned and you are responsible for paying any negative equity that was added to your new loan.
When you first visit Tom Wood Direct, the rates and monthly payments you see for each vehicle are averages and not based on your individual credit score and down payment.

Yes! Tom Wood Direct allows you to apply for an auto loan directly on the site through our financing partners. Once you find a vehicle you love, applying for an auto loan on Tom Wood Direct is a snap, especially if you are already seeing personalized payments. We will pre-fill much of the credit application using information you have already provided to us to save you time.
Yes! You can pay with cash or bring your own third-party financing by choosing the cash option when submitting your order or by calling 1-317-688-6253.
The prices you see on Tom Wood Direct are non-negotiable. Our vehicles are priced competitively. Your purchase details are clearly displayed and explained so you always know exactly what you are paying.
You may use a credit card for a transaction up to $3,000. Any additional money will need to be provided via wire transfer or cashier's check.
Yes, through the purchase process, you can easily obtain an Instant Cash Offer (ICO), directly through out integration with Kelley Blue Book for your vehicle. You can either sell it outright or apply its value as your trade-in towards your vehicle purchase. Please note if you opt to have your vehicle delivered and have a trade, transportation charges may change.
You have direct access to Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer, a trade-in valuation tool built into Tom Wood Direct; just enter your vehicle details and obtain a value.

The Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer provided a firm offer (presuming an accurate description of the vehicle is provided). You can then use the equity value as partial payment for a new vehicle. The physical trade-in will take place at the point of delivery. 

The Tom Wood delivery agent will verify that the trade-in vehicle matches the condition provided in the Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer process.
Our system only allows you to add one trade-in per purchase. If you wish to trade multiple vehicles, we will have to add it offline to proceed with the transaction. Please note if you opt to have your vehicle delivered and have multiple trades, transportation charges may change.
This means you have negative equity. You can still use it to finance a car through Tom Wood Direct, but it may affect the rate and loan terms.
Sometimes our algorithm gets stumped. You can call us at 1-317-688-6253 for additional options for your trade-in.
You may occasionally see a vehicle labeled as "Sale Pending," meaning another customer is currently placing an order on it. However, if that customer does not continue with the purchase, the vehicle will be released back into our inventory and be available again for purchase.
YES! On eligible vehicles, Tom Wood Direct Lifetime Powertrain Coverage is at no cost to you. You are covered as long as you own the vehicle. It's just one more way we give you peace of mind today and down the road.

We offer several Aftermarket Product Protection Plans for purchase to help you extend your peace of mind. 
Some include plans for bumper-to-bumper coverage, tire & wheel, GAP insurance, and so much more. Additional options are available offline, including dent & dings and windshield & key replacements. 
As you move through Tom Wood Direct to purchase your vehicle, we will present you with a few aftermarket products that align with your personalized needs and will protect your new vehicle.
Once the title work is processed, you will visit your local BMV to register your vehicle. The purchaser is responsible for paying registration fees where applicable at the local BMV and in some cases will be responsible for any local taxes and fees at the time of registration depending on if there is a lienholder or not. We will provide a temporary plate until the title transfer is complete and will send documents necessary for registering and titling to your preferred method of delivery via email or regular postage to your home address.

No. Delivery fees are dependent on your zip code. There is a $99 charge within 50 miles. Any delivery over 50 miles will be estimated upon check-out by entering your zip code when choosing the delivery option. Additional charges may be applied for delivery if you have a trade.
The Lifetime Powertrain Coverage covers most new and certified pre-owned vehicles from the current year to 10 model years old with less than 100,000 miles at the time of purchase. Restrictions may apply on some manufacturer's certified pre-owned vehicles.

The major systems will be covered including engine, transmission, drivetrain, and cooling & fuel system. This coverage is not related to the manufacturers coverage and is over and above your manufacturer's warranty. See a copy of the Lifetime Limited Powertrain agreement for specific components that are covered.
No. While we can do a home delivery on most vehicles, we cannot deliver outside of the contiguous United States and cannot deliver to Wyoming or Colorado. Residents from the continental US may still purchase a vehicle, but may not be eligible for delivery if residing in the restricted areas. You will have to take delivery at the dealership and arrange for your own transportation after purchase. All eligible deliveries must go to the address and person listed on the contract and they MUST be present at the time of delivery.
While most will be eligible for buying 100% online, there may be certain circumstances that prevent us from being able to transact online. These circumstances include, but are not limited to: location of residency, ID verification issues, failure to provide required documents and stipulations and restrictions imposed by lenders. We reserve the right to request a purchase be made in-person instead of online.
No. For your protection and ours, we must use our own transportation providers to deliver your vehicle to your home. The individual on the contract must be present with valid identification at the time of delivery and it must be delivered to the address provided on the contract. If you choose the pick-up option, the individual on the contract must be present to pick-up the vehicle and must show valid identification prior to taking delivery of the vehicle.
No. All international purchased are prohibited with Tom Wood Direct.
Yes! You can pick-up your vehicle at the location that has your vehicle in their lot, just select the pick-up option prior to checkout.
Yes! all of our vehicles are at various Tom Wood Automotive Group locations, primarily located in Central Indiana and may be purchased in-person instead of online, but some of the benefits of purchasing online may not apply in-store. If you want to receive more information or would like to know the location of a vehicle, call us at 1-317-688-6253.
We strive to deliver your vehicle in a timely manner. Once all necessary documents are signed and received and funds have been collected, delivery will be scheduled. Timing of delivery will depend on location and how quickly required documents and funds are received. In some cases, we can schedule delivery as soon as 1-2 business days, but it could take up to 1-2 weeks depending on circumstances.
No. Most documents can be signed electronically, but certain state forms require wet-ink, original signatures. In those cases, we will send necessary documents via mail with a return envelope. Those documents must include original signatures and cannot be copied or scanned.
Unfortunately our system only permits one applicant per transaction at this time. The ability to add a co-applicant will be available in the near future. If you want or need to add a co-applicant, we will not be able to complete an online transaction and will have to refer you to the selling dealership to complete the transaction in-person.
Yes, if the delivery exceeds 50 miles, there will be an additional charge to have your vehicle delivered back to us.
In most cases, yes! We have a great finance team that specializes in getting approvals, but may require you to visit in-person. Please contact us at 1-317-688-6253.
While the majority of our vehicles can be purchased if you live in a different area, unfortunately some of our manufacturers restrict us from selling outside of our area. Examples are, but are not limited to, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Subaru. We are unable to sell to residents outside of Indiana and in certain cities and counties in Northern Indiana, including Fort Wayne. This includes purchasing in-store.
